Dave Robison was the first person to welcome Carla and Maer to the literary podcasting community. Warm and very giving of his time and support, Dave is one of those people you just want to hang out with. He’s fun, he’s effervescent and he is the guiding light behind The Roundtable Podcast. Dave is a lively host on his own podcast and he’s a delight to have as a guest on MythBehaving. Currentlty collaborating on a novel, he and his guests share literary advice on their show. And he brought some of that knowledge to share with MythBehaving, so don’t miss this super fun episode!

About Dave Robison

Dave Robison has indulged in creative pursuits all his life, frolicking gleefully in the visual, literary, and performing arts. He has embraced the digital age, using all the wonderful media innovations that come with it to indulge his one true passion in life: storytelling. Dave is the founder and co-host of the Roundtable Podcast, a weekly podcast that invites writers and authors to brainstorm story ideas in the eternal quest for literary gold. He’s also a vocal performer, lending his buttery man-voice to the narration of audiobooks as well as fiction podcasts, including Escapepod, Pseudopod, Podcastle, The Drabblecast, and many more.

His life philosophy is “You find what you’re looking for” and Dave has set his sights high. He’s currently collaborating with three other authors in a groundbreaking shared-world novel titled “Chasing the Devil: Memoirs of a Reluctant Pirate” due out in 2015 from Antimatter Press. Also in 2015, he’ll be launching a publication/media salon (tentatively title “Wonderthing Studios”) dedicated to exploring new ways to facilitate and foster collaboration between artists of all disciplines.

Excerpts from Episode 32

Dave on “If you are going to write, you must read a lot”: “If you want to write that means…you love the story. You enjoy immersing yourself in a tale, surrendering yourself to somebody else’s adventure and because of that love, that commitment to that storytelling vibe, it almost follows that you would read.”

Dave on getting into podcasting: “It was a sequence of random events, but ultimately it came down to the fact that it was something that I was passionate about…”
