It’s a pleasure to welcome Justin Macumber to the show! Justin is a perfect example of just how small the publishing world is. I actually know him through various groups, which wouldn’t be odd if most of these groups were not rather small. It’s fun to run into the same people in completely different places. Let’s find out more about this talented author and podcaster. And give a listen to his awesome interview!

Justin Macumber

Justin Macumber is the author of Still Water, Haywire, and A Minor Magic. When not hard at work on his next story he hosts the popular Dead Robots’ Society podcast. He and his lovely wife live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex along with their motley pack of dogs and cats that they think of as their children.

vcbirlidis 2 lowWhat a treat today’s guest is! Author of the intriguing and enchanting Muse Unexpected, V. C. Birlidis is as fun and engaging as his novel. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the fabulous V through Facebook and other social media and his sense of humor and kindness have struck a chord with me. Join me in finding out more about this fascinating author.

For Vasilios Constantine Birlidis (V.C. Birlidis), the road to getting published has been a long one. The inspiration for his novel, Muse Unexpected, was ignited when he was a child, due to his father reading to him from a worn paperback about the Greek Myths. The myths were certainly not the sort of bedtime story to read to a nine year old with an overactive imagination, and although he often begged his father to read another one, Vasilios experienced many sleepless and anxiety filled nights during his childhood.

Beginning in junior high, Vasilios began to search for an outlet for his bottled-up creativity and auditioned and won placement in The New World School of the Arts (Formerly PAVAC), in their Musical Theater program, but it was during the summer of his 16th year that Vasilios discovered a true outlet for the creativity he didn’t know how to express. Always having been a fan of the ballet, Vasilios began taking classes at the renowned ballet instructor/studio, Martha Mahr School of Ballet. It was during the many grueling classical ballet classes where the overweight teenager was transformed into a strong, confident and lean individual.

Vasilios went on to perform with The Miami Ballet, BalletMet Columbus and Columbus Youth Ballet.

Myth 8

Lone Wolf Rising by Jami Brumfield

Simon’s Review

Lone wolf cover

Lone Wolf Rising By Jami Brumfield is a wonderful breath of fresh supernatural air. Okay, the subject matter has been done to death by Twilight Series and Sookie Stackhouse Series, or so I thought. Jami has revitalised the teen supernatural genre with fresh blood by the gallons and has actually surpassed those illustrious more famous series by a mile, no make that a light year. This YA Paranormal novel is an absolute must read for all fans of werewolf, shapeshifter, vampire and witches.

Orphan Becca is a 17 year old wolf attending school in Arizona. Life is abruptly turned on its head when her pack is wiped out in a war with vampires. Now Becca is the new Alpha, so says the Authority, the rulers of the supernatural world.

Becca’s life becomes even more complicated when she discovers she has two suitors for her love, Lucky and Gabriel. All this at 17. It’s too much too soon for poor Becca, but she must handle it. Together they and Becca’s siblings vow to avenge the death of the Arizona pack and Becca’s parents ten years before.

Another revelation from Becca’s grandmother adds more spice to the wonderful story – telling her she is also a witch spellbound against using her powers – that will keep the reader turning pages as fast as their need to discover the ending which in true brilliant fashion will leave the reader sighing for more.

So this reader and all like me are now champing at the bit for more.

This FIVE STAR Werewolffest with a classy difference is highly recommended and is a must read. Bring it on!

authorphoto2 (426x640) (426x640) Today it’s our pleasure to welcome the ever-awesome Lindsey R. Loucks to the show! She’s talking about her debut novel which came out last year and was followed up with two shorter works – a novella and a novelette.

About Lindsey R. Loucks

Lindsey R. Loucks works as a school librarian in rural Kansas. When she’s not discussing books with anyone who will listen, she’s dreaming up her own stories. Eventually her brain gives out, and she’ll play hide and seek with her cat, put herself in a chocolate induced coma, or watch scary movies alone in the dark to reenergize.

She’s been with her significant other for almost two decades.

Myth 8

Live from the Road (Route 66 Fiction) by P.C. Zick

  Sarah’s Review

live from road cover

Part Thelma & Louise, part Robin Hood and his band of merry men, part the Pied Piper of Hamlin, P. C. Zick hits a homerun with Live from The Road. The cast of characters starts out with two mothers and their twenty something daughters as they travel across the U. S. on the old Route 66 and ends up including a whole host of interesting, displaced people, longing for adventure alongside these four “Road Warriors”. The book is a wonderful cavalcade of life––laughter, charming and clever bantering between the daughters and their moms, pent-up feelings, divorce, wild flings, karaoke, tragedy, emotional and spiritual discoveries, and some tidbits about the history of Route 66, coincidentally known as the “Mother Road”.  In short, this is an extremely well-written book that, through its very believable characters and vivid descriptions of the beauties they encounter gives you something for everyone, as the group keeps chorusing, “May we always go where we’re headed and be content with the journey no matter where it leads!” A thoroughly enjoyable read! Definitely recommended…

T.W. Luedke 201 x 233It’s always fun when friends drop by and today is no exception! Author Travis Luedke (aka T.W. Luedke) is a versatile writer with a new Young Adult book, The Shepherd. A departure from his steamy, sexy adult series, The Nightlife, this edgy new novel is a welcome addition to the YA Paranormal genre.

About Travis Luedke

Travis Luedke is a husband, father, and author of Urban Fantasy Thriller, Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Fantasy, Young Adult Fiction, and Sci-fi. He is currently catching a 3rd degree sunburn in San Antonio, Texas, and loving every minute of it.

As the author of the Nightlife Series novels, Travis lives very vicariously through his writings. He invites you to enjoy his macabre flights of fancy, but be warned: The Nightlife Series is violent, sexy, and occasionally violently sexy.
