Lynn Rush Author Photo

Powerhouse Lynn Rush is our special guest for our latest episode. And I do mean powerhouse! This phenomenal lady has written 28 books, has several series going and is kind and generous with her time and advice. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know her over the last couple months and she has been an invaluable resource and great friend!

About Lynn Rush

Driven to write, Lynn Rush has penned over twenty-five novels. To date, six are published by Crescent Moon Press: The Wasteland and The Violet Night trilogies. Lynn Rush is a pen name that is a combination of two sources – Lynn, the first name of her mother-in-law, who passed away and Rush – since the author is a former inline speed skater and mountain biker. All of Rush’s books are dedicated to Lynn, her namesake, and a portion of the proceeds benefits cancer research and treatment.

Rush holds a degree in psychology from Southwest Minnesota State University and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa. Originally from Minneapolis, Rush currently enjoys living in the Arizona sunshine by road biking nearly 100 miles per week with her husband of 16 years and jogging with her loveable Shetland Sheep dog.

Maer AuthorToday, I sat on the other side of the “interview table” with guest host Lyndee Walker and my usual partner in crime, Carla Clifton. It was a fun experience chatting about my own book, Relics, with the two of them. Please join us as they turn the tables and interview me.

About Maer Wilson

After a successful career being other people, and later teaching others the many tricks of that trade, Maer Wilson has decided to be herself for a while. Turns out she’s a writer. She’s always loved stories, especially fantasy, mystery and sci fi. Maer was born in the Year of the Dragon and has a dragon-themed room in her home, but sadly no dragons in the back yard. When she’s not writing, Maer plays online video games, teaches college and reads. She also co-hosts the literary podcast, “MythBehaving” and writes for two gaming fansites. She lives in the high desert of Southern Nevada with her two dogs, a chihuahua and a poodle. Relics is her first novel and was released by Crescent Moon Press on May 1, 2013.

Spain_2009_085Interviewing G.J. Berger was a real treat. Not least of all because this is not only one of my author friends, but a friend I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with. I have tremendous admiration and respect for GJ. he has done what I’d be way to chicken to do on my first book. And he did it brilliantly. If you want to self-publish, then I think GJ has a template that works.

Alice LoweeceyIt was loads of fun interviewing Alice Loweecey! She’s such a dynamic writer and just all-around awesome person. Of course, I might be a tiny bit biased since she was such a support and help to me when I first started submitting my draft query letters for feedback over on Absolute Write. But Alice’s books are a much fun to read as she is to know.

What an absolutely delightful guest Jeannie Ruesch is! Her book cover art is stunning. She’s written two books, with a third due out soon. And in this interview she gives insight into the mysterious, behind-the-scenes magic created by those unsung heroes, the book cover artist. Well, at least they are unsung by many readers. Authors on the other hand tend to be fascinated, amazed and grateful when we see a gorgeous cover for our book. (No, I don’t have mine yet, but soon!)

The author of many books in that genre, as well as contemporary fantasy, I had the pleasure of meeting Jim years ago. Many, many years ago. If you love steampunk and contemporary fantasy, then Jim is one author who should be on your Must Read list. A prolific writer, with a distinctive, thoroughly entertaining style, Jim is a delightful guest and a very welcome addition to MythBehaving podcast. This is one show you do not want to miss!

Our fifth guest is critically acclaimed author of Rock, Paper, Tiger and Getaway, Lisa Brackmann. One of the things I like best about Lisa is her passion. Whether it’s helping a newbie author rewrite her query for the eleventieth time (yes, she did that for me) or talking about China or drug cartels, she is always completely engaged. She’s intelligent and well-read and knows tons about a variety of subjects. That could be intimidating, but Lisa also brings a warmth and generosity of spirit that makes you feel right at home with her.

Read on for a few of the excerpts from Lisa’s thoughts on a variety of topics!

Getting to interview debut mystery author, LynDee Walker, was such a treat! LynDee is the author of breakout novel, Font Page Fatality, which introduces the stylish intrepid reporter, Nichelle Clark. LynDee is another special guest because I’ve known her for over a year and our adventures on the road to publishing were running a parallel track. We even sold our first novels within two weeks of each other. LynDee has some great information for those writers wanting to get published, as well tips about beta readers. I’m lucky and privileged to be one of LynDee’s own beta readers.

Want to know more about LynDee and her fun new mystery? Well, read on and we’ll even give you a couple of excerpts!

We were very happy to welcome Gretchen McNeil as our special guest for our third episode. Gretchen is the author of Possess and Ten. I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with Gretchen for the last year in an online writers’ group we both belong to. One of the things that amazes me and that I admire tremendously about Gretchen is her savvy about the publishing industry. She really seems to have her finger on the pulse of what’s going on. Make no mistake: this is one smart lady and she knows her stuff when it comes to writing and the industry.

Gretchen has a special MythBehavior. Listen to her interview to find out what it is!

But meantime, you can also get a couple of wise tidbits from Gretchen’s interview, links to her books and social media by reading on…
